Menlo Park has a population of just above 34,600, and is considered to be one of the best places to live in the state of California.
Located on the eastern edge of San Mateo County, Menlo Park is bordered by San Francisco Bay on the north and east; by East Palo Alto, Palo Alto, and Stanford on the south. To the west is Atherton, North Fair Oaks, and Redwood City.
A major economic hub, several corporations such as Facebook, Robert Half International, Katerra, and Pacific Biosciences of California have their headquarters in Menlo Park. According to statistics compiled by Data USA, this high concentration of companies helped push the neighborhood’s median household income from $147,824 in 2018 to $160,784 the following year.
As a result of the neighborhood’s healthy economy, property values in Menlo Park have also shot up, with the average home in the area now priced at $2 million.
Houses and properties in Menlo Park are built in a wide range of classic architectural styles, including Palladian, Craftsman, Colonial, Farmhouse, Mid-Century Modern, and Mediterranean.
Despite being a highly developed neighborhood, Menlo Park still has a friendly, suburban feel to it, making it extremely attractive to young professionals and new families.
Menlo Park also has several highly-rated schools within its borders. These schools include the highly rated La Entrada Middle School and Hillview Middle School, which operate under the Las Lomitas Elementary and Menlo Park City Elementary school districts, respectively.
Menlo Park is also a cultural hotspot, with the neighborhood home for several must-visit and iconic art galleries and studios, as well as specialty bookstores, artisanal shops, and theatres.
